Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21, 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actress. She is famous for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television series. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington in Ohio, left high school and moved in Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. Her portrayal as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) alongside her. Grace wanted to focus on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated interpretation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon on the finale and in two additional episodes. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season which ran from 2013 until the year 2014. She portrays Faith as an admirer and muse to the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as older that Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and was co-starring with her sister in Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. She also appeared as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the love story Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as a mother who is not married on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she starred in comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. Her other roles include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in the film Frank (2014) and The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a director and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
