 Emeraude Toubia (born March 1 1989) is a Canadian-born American actress and model, who portrayed Isabelle Lightwood on the Freeform fantasy series Shadowhunters. She is of Mexican and Lebanese origin, she once was on the Venevision telenovelas Cosita linda as Dulce Rincon and Voltea pa' que te loves as Stephanie Karam.Toubia was born in Montreal, Quebec. As a single child she was raised in Brownsville (Texas). Her mother, Mirta Sonia (nee Solis) was born and raised in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, and her father was a Lebanese American. Her paternal grandparents are of the Koura District, Lebanon.In 1999, at the age of ten, Toubia made her first television appearance on Televisa's kids' program El Mundo de los Ninos. Toubia became famous in 2008 after she was chosen to take part in the second season of the Univision beauty pageant show Nuestra Belleza Latina, where the participants were trained rigorously in performing, acting, dancing, and other things; Toubia was voted first runner-up. Since then, she has been featured in ads for companies like Maybelline, J. C. Penney, Sony, Garnier and AT&T.
