Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, one of the daughters of musicians from Mexico, was born to the music-loving parents of her family. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to classical music, old boleros as well as classic ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys opera, tangos and every form of dramatic performances. Ana started learning how to sing as well as play musical instruments from an early age, along alongside her mother. The formal training in singing in the year she turned 16 old and studied with the world-renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and then in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was part of numerous opera chamber and choruses. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to the south of California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and regularly performs as a soloist performing traditional Latin American music at private performances. She is passionate about music, art, and performing keeps her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a performer and teacher. Ana has been a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and an active member of Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her singing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill an interest, especially among the younger generation, for keeping this music in the present.
